East Meath Business Co-Operative
What is it?
A new community based business group has been set up in Stamullen.
We are calling ourselves the “East Meath Business Co-Operative”.
We had our first meeting on the 10th November which was well attended.
What is the group's ethos?
Trade Local – Stay Local – Buy Local
The wisdom of keeping our tax Euros within your own community is nothing more than simple mathematics. When we invest in local companies, their businesses are stronger and they are able to grow. This means they hire workers who in turn spend money locally on food, clothing, housing, taxes and charitable contributions. Since Euros spent locally circulate more than seven times (through grocery stores, crèches, banks, and other retail establishments) before leaving the community, buying locally allows businesses to donate euros, products and services for schools, youth sports, charities, etc.
The co-operative is aimed at giving local businesses an opportunity to combine their business experience and knowledge, to support each other, to network with each other through presentations, discussions and meetings.
